My home is not a place, it is people.
Cordelia's Corner for the Complete No0b #14

Today's lesson will be short and sweet, class. Then we can all go outside and enjoy the sunshine. I realize that some of us live in darkened rooms and that the thought of emerging pale and blinking into the sunshine is a foreign idea, but we should all give it a try. Later.

Open DesktopX and you get the following menu:

Click on Load Object - see how easy that is? It will bring up a folder when you do this - DesktopX has stored several objects for you to choose from in this folder.

A DesktopX Object might be an animated icon that sits on your desktop like a regular icon. When you mouse over it, it changes states, "growing" larger.

A DesktopX object might be a button that will shut down your computer in a snap.

Or an object might be an animated kitten called Neko that chases your mouse cursor around the desktop.

Ain't he cute?

Ok, the next step is to....wait. There aren't any more steps. That's it. IT'S THAT EASY!

It doesn't end with Stardock's pre-loaded content. As of this morning there were just over 2000 objects in the DesktopX Object Gallery on WinCustomize. So don't let my lack of imagination in objects limit your choices - go out and get some YOU like. Download an Object, save it to an appropriate folder, and then follow the above steps to load the object.  And if you can't find any you like, consider making one.

Daily hint for the no0b: Too many items in a particular gallery on WinCustomize? If you are a WinCustomize subscriber you can sort your preferences in your account to only show gallery items rated X stars or above - you choose the rating from 1 to 5 stars.

Bonus daily hint for the no0b: I just went outside. It burns, IT BURNS!!! Gahhh! I'm staying inside from now on.
